Pet Pundit Pet Perspectives: Navigating Leadership in Animal Welfare
Due October 31, 2024

Dear Animal Welfare Professionals,

Are you a seasoned leader in the field of animal welfare with a wealth of experience to share? Then we want to hear from you!

We are excited to announce an opportunity for animal welfare professionals in management roles to showcase their leadership journey and insights through a compelling essay. Whether you've been working in the field for decades or have recently risen through the ranks, we invite you to reflect on your experiences and contribute to the collective knowledge of our community. You can be a President, Board Member, Executive Director, Operations Manager, Marketing Director, Development Director, or any manager or supervisor with any animal shelter, spay-neuter clinic, or dog and cat non-profit. Writers at all stages of their careers are invited to submit.

Submissions may range from 250 to 1,500 words and may address some or all of the following questions:

  1. How did you get your start in animal welfare?
  2. What roles have you held, and how did you work your way up to where you are now?
  3. What advice do you have for someone wanting to enter the field or explore available opportunities?
  4. What is one leadership skill you wish you knew sooner or want to pass on to others in the animal welfare field?
  5. Reflecting on your leadership journey, can you share a specific moment or experience that challenged your leadership skills and how you overcame it?

We encourage you to share your unique perspective, challenges, triumphs, tips, strategies, and lessons learned along your leadership journey. Your perspective has the potential to inspire and guide aspiring professionals as they navigate their own paths in animal welfare.

This book will not delve into differing philosophies or debates within the animal welfare field. Instead, it aims to be a strictly inspirational collection of stories, insights, tips, and strategies from professionals dedicated to improving the lives of animals. By focusing on the personal journeys and leadership experiences of those in the field, the book seeks to motivate and inspire current and future leaders in animal welfare, providing them with practical advice and heartfelt reflections that celebrate the passion and commitment required to make a positive impact.

If selected, your submission will be featured in our upcoming publication "Humane Perspectives: Leadership in Animal Welfare, Tips and Strategies from Thought Leaders," providing a platform for your insights to reach a wider audience of animal welfare enthusiasts, practitioners, and advocates. PLEASE INCLUDE A BIO WITH YOUR SUBMISSION. LIMIT 200 WORDS.
